Is it a legend? Many observers believe that view the Chupacabra is an urban legend. First we have a Montauk Monster wash ashore and now we have a rare sighting of a Chupacabra, which is often spelled with the South American spelling of La Chupucabra. So what is this creature? Legend has it that the Chupacabra is a mythical creature that only comes out to feed late at night.

According to a report from television station KHOU in Texas one police officer that encountered what just might be a Chupacabra, and the officer described it as hairless creature with a long snout, short front legs and long back legs. He said he had never seen anything like it.

A report from Local 10.Com from Texas notes that even though there has never been an official discovery of the mysterious animal, Cuero, Texas, boasts it is the world's Chupacabra capital.
