Sarah Palin's Retainer for Going Rogue - At Least $1.25 Million
Oct 28, 2009
How much did Sarah Plain make for "Going Rogue" her forthcoming book on politics in America? She has already pocketed $1.25 million and will rake in much more as her fans line up to snap up the book once it goes on sale. Perhaps that's why she allowed someone else to run the state of Alaska and resigned as Governor of the state.

Palin will appear on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" the day before the release of her book in what some believe might be an explosive interview. Though Winfrey helped launch Barack Obama's run for the White House, she flatly refused to interview Palin, the first GOP woman to ever be nominated as Vice President, when that was announced. many women were furious with Oprah for slighting Palin.

Where did the $1.25 million number come from? According to a report from the Associated Press, "A disclosure statement released yesterday discusses Palin's finances from Jan. 1 to July 27, when she resigned as Alaska governor. Palin said she received the money from publisher HarperCollins."
According to the report Palin described the $1.25 million figure only as a "retainer" that appears to be a reference to her lucrative advance. The book is currently listed at No. 6 on Amazon.com and No. 11 on Barnes & Noble.com so it will sel and the $1.25 million is only a start.
