Sexy, Blonde and Green: Dems Hire Andrea Robinson for "Director of Greening"

Who says saving the planet can't be sexy? Blonde activist Andrea Robinson, a longtime environmental activist, was hired Wednesday by the Democratic National Convention to become its first-ever Director of Greening. Both Democrats and Republicans are working to make their national conventions eco-friendly and as green as humanly possible.

According to Politics West, Andrea Robinson "Will work to find ways to make the preparation and conducting of the convention as environmentally friendly as possible," said Leah Daughtry, the Democratic National Convention Committee chief executive, speaking at the committee's third "Convention Conversations" forum in Boulder.

An online bio notes that Andrea is the first person to ever hold the position of “Director of Greening” for the DNCC and began creating the sustainability plan in September 2007. She is responsible for constructing, developing, and managing the sustainability and greening efforts for the 2008 Democratic National Convention.
And no detail is too small: Robinson insisted that banners be made of canvas or corn-based bio-plastics -- and then found a vendor to recycle them into handbags after the convention. Will hiring her really help the Dems convention to be as green as possible? Reviews are certainly mixed.
