3 Years of Ammo Sold in 72 hours?

By Staff
Dec 26, 2012
A run on ammo?

Were 3 years worth of ammo sold in 72 hours recently?

Yes and then some.

The LA Times reports, "Brownells Inc., which claims to be the world’s largest supplier of firearms accessories and gunsmithing tools, said it has sold 3 1/2 years worth of ammunition magazines in three days."

After the school shooting in Connecticut at Sandy Hook left 20 children dead, calls were heavy for gun, gun clips and ammo restrictions and that has apparently sparked a rush of purchases as Americans stockpile weapons and ammo ahead of a perceived gun grab.

“The demand for magazines actually exceeded the ability for the system to keep up with the volume that was being ordered,” company President Pete Brownell wrote on gun owner forum

The company president added that his company was trying to keep up and working hard to satisfy customers, the Times adds in the report.

“We’re working like crazy to get these orders to you as quickly as possible,” he added.
