Big Bear Lockdown (Video) Search for LA Cop Killer Who Wrote Last Resort Manifesto Continues

By Staff

Christopher Dorner is a wanted man.

The mountain retreat of Big Bear near Los Angeles has been on lockdown as police search for a former LAPD officer who has already killed three people.

Police had been searching for ex LAPD officer and accused cop killer Christopher Dorner and the truck he was last seen driving was discovered on a quiet forest road in flames near Big Bear.

Watch a video below.

Police confirmed the truck belonged to the suspected gunman and the manhunt moved to Big Bear as officers were dispatched and residents warned.

Officials ordered an emergency lockdown of local businesses, homes and the town's popular ski resorts, according to the LA Times, and parents were told to pick up their children from school.

The police have searched diligently, but apparently came up empty.

Authorities now admit that the truck could be an elaborate diversion or even a trap and are frustrated as they search for the heavily armed ex-cop.

"We don't know what he's going to do," said Cindy Bachman, spokeswoman for the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, one of many law enforcement agencies whose primary purpose has become finding Dorner.

"We know what he's capable of doing. And we need to find him."

Authorities are expected to provide updates about the massive, multi-agency manhunt for Dorner, 33, at a 9 a.m. news conference, reports the LA Times.
