Christy Lynn Martin is the latest teacher to be accused of improper contact with a student. Reports note that authorities are claiming that 32-year-old Christy Lynn Martin, a St. Petersburg teacher, used a cell phone to exchange nude pictures with a 14-year old boy. Sexting scandals have hit many schools as girls and boys exchange raunchy photos of each other.

It has obviously spread to teachers as recently in Arizona a teen girl was accused of sending pictures of herself to a male faculty member. Other scandals have involved only students, but authorities are struggling to keep up and decide exactly what charges to file in each particular case.


For Martin, the Azalea Middle School teacher was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on Saturday. According to the Orlando sun-Sentinel, "Police spokesman Bill Profitt says the teen, an eighth-grader who is not being identified, told investigators he and the teacher had a relationship." According to Tampa bay Online, "Police said the details of the relationship are not yet clear."
