Dalia Dippolito (Photos, Video) Hires Hitman - Busted on Film!
By Marty Cox
Nov 20, 2009
Dalia Dippolito tried to hire a hitman to take care of her wealthy husband, Michael, but the woman instead hired an undercover police officer and they have it filmed like an episode of COPS. The result is an elaborate trap set by police and caught on video from authorities, first of Dalia allegedly making the hire, then her reaction on film after they tell her the job is finished.

Released is a video clip once police told her that her husband was "dead" and the job had been taken care of by the supposed shooter. "It's like a bad movie," Dippolito told detectives when he learned of his wife's plot.
Another released surveillance video shows a woman giving photos of her husband to a hitman (actually an undercover cop), and agreeing on a price for killing her husband, according to police. Police say that woman is Dalia Dippolito and she wanted to eliminate Michael.

Photos and lots of video here. Transworld News reports on how the whole set up finally unfolded and led to her arrest.
"She gave the officer $1,200 to buy a handgun for the killing and asked for the time of the hit so she could create an alibi." Police would later inform the husband that his wife wanted him dead.
The report adds, "They set up an elaborate crime scene at the Dippolito's townhouse and called Dalia to the home. When an officer told her that her husband was dead, Dalia began crying and shaking. She was taken to the police station for an interview. Even after she came face-to-face with her hired hitman, Dippolito denied any involvement in the murder. She was shocked when police brought in her husband."

Boynton Beach police have charged Dalia Dippolito with solicitation to commit first-degree murder. She remains on house arrest at her parents' Boynton Beach home.
