According to a report from the Associated Press, three or four robbers threatened about 15 employees with handguns. They pistol whipped some and " and hit some on the head before taking the jewels from display cases from the store near the Champs-Elysees," the report states citing a police official off the record as a source for the statement,

Another report cites police as well and reports, "The robbers were well informed as they identified employees by name and knew where jewelry not on display was kept." The thieves wore disguises and two were dressed as women. AFP reports, "Police said they were dealing with "major pros" who had meticulously planned their crimes…"
This isn't the first. Just over a year ago Harry Winston was hit by another robbery in which an estimated $13 million worth of jewels were stolen.
