Is Christopher Dorner Alive or Dead? Shootout in Big Bear as Cabin Burns
Is Christopher Dorner alive or dead?
The ex LAPD officer has been sighted in Big Bear, California by police and was involved in a shootout with the police.
However, it is unclear if he is alive or dead.
According to the LA Times a few days ago, Dorner broke into a cabin off Route 38, a source said.
According to the paper:
"He allegedly tied up the couple inside and held them hostage until Tuesday morning when he left. It is unclear whether Dorner stole their vehicle or another, but Fish and Wildlife officers knew to be on the lookout for a white pickup truck when they spotted Dorner driving one and attempted to stop him, the source said."
MSN reveals when authorities found the vehicle, the suspect ran into the forest and barricaded himself inside a cabin.
That report reveals:
A short time later there was a gunfight and two officers were wounded. One later died; the other officer underwent surgery and was expected to survive.
"Hundreds of rounds" were exchanged during the 30-minute gunbattle, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The cabin where he fled is now engulfed in flames.
Police are allowing it to burn, however Anderson Cooper reveals it is unclear if Dorner is dead in the cabin or escaped and is hiding someone where else on the property.
There are several other cabins on the property, a source told CNN.
*Update - Dorner is believed dead.
