She's out and the mistress has been unveiled! Maria Belen Chapur is a brunette ex reporter and she has now been found and is talking. Much was written about the woman that was such a mystery the spelling of her name went from Maria Belen Shapur to Maria Belen Chapur as the search was on for the woman that was believed to sleeping with the Governor.

Despite the tragedy surrounding pop culture news, the mystery brunette seemed to draw interest from groups wanting to bury the Republican Party in the state. The Governor is term limited and is out in a bit over a year but some believed that if South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford was under a scandal with a buxom Argentina mistress it would open the door to Democrats.


The political side of the scandal is horrific for Sanford, he is done as a candidate. The problem was likely not the affair (see Newt Gingrich) it was the fact that it was so dramatic when he could not be found for days. A missing governor will do that.

ABC News has more photos of the woman here. Maria Belen Chapur wants privacy (good luck with that) and is furious about the leaked e-mails that describe her most intimate features in detail. That seems to be what she is most upset about and her statement released admits no affair.
