Nancy Brinker Salary Under Scrutiny - How Much Does Susan G. Komen for the Cure Founder Make?

Feb 6, 2012
What impact will the controversy have on the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization?

Just how much money does Nancy Brinker make per year?

Reports were furiously being published online citing an astonishing $5 million per year figure by the Daily Beast, Alternet and others.

However, it appears someone may have added an extra zero and added in some extras numbers along the way as her salary is less that 10 percent of that monster $5 million annual salary report.

WaPo reveals:

"Nancy Brinker, founder and chief executive of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, took home $417,000 in salary in 2010, according to financial documents posted on the charity’s Website, and paid 50 top executives more than $100,000 each."

Many will argue that's still a lot of money and Brinker has been at the center of a political firestorm since last week when she defunded Planned Parenthood, deciding to cease cash to Planned Parenthood from her organization Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Much of the scrutiny is now shining brightly on the organization’s CEO, and others are looking closely at the finances of the entire organization.

Lori Stahl crunches the numbers in the Washington Post in an interesting item dubbed, "What Komen spends on Komen."

Check out the numbers.
