Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and author Joe McGinniss are getting cozy in Alaska as the author has rented a house next to the GOP firebrand. He is planning on writing a book on Palin and actually moved in next door with a second-floor window and a deck overlooking her property.

Some are already dubbing the writer as a stalker. Others wonder if living next door to a subject and putting them under surveillance is proper ethics.

Kelly McBride, a media ethics expert at the Poytner Institute, said in an interview: "She's essentially being put under surveillance, that's what she's afraid of, and that's what I'd be afraid of too. There's so much that can be misconstrued."


Palin announced his new address on her Facebook page revealing "He is - about 15 feet away on the neighbor's rented deck overlooking my children's play area and my kitchen window."

McGinniss won't comment. The tentatively title of his offering is reported as "Sarah Palin's Year of Living Dangerously."
