Starbucks Sued Over Unreasonably Hot Tea

Court Watch NY - A New York resident is suing Starbucks for giving them what they considered "unreasonably hot tea." The plaintiff, Zeynep Inanli claims to have suffered suffered second-degree burns, a Reuters' report reveals.

According to the Huffington Post, the coffee giant is being sued by the customer who claims that an order of tea was "unreasonably hot, in containers which were not safe," resulting in "second-degree burns" and causing "great physical pain and mental anguish."

KING 5 from Seattle tried to contact Starbucks, but there was no immediate comment from the coffee giant.

The report reminds that "Lawsuits like this one are not uncommon. In 1994, a New Mexico woman sued McDonalds for nearly $3 million because she says she scalded herself with the restaurant's coffee. Both sides later settled."
