Crime Beat Florida - Stephanie Ragusa (pictured) a Tampa, Florida teacher who was charged with having sex with two of her underage students accepted a plea deal in a Hillsborough County court this week. Ragusa's victims, now 17 and 18, were not present in court.

The charges stemmed from "separate, repeated sexual encounters with two boys, one was 14-year-old at the time and the other boy was 16 years old during the sexual relationship," reports CNN. Asked how she pleaded, Ragusa replied: "Guilty in my best interest."


Prosecutors said the 31-year-old math teacher had intercourse with the 14-year-old on three occasions between October 2006 and May 2007, according to the St. Petersburg Times. More here from the local source including a hearty discussion.

The report adds the "relationship with the 17-year-old student began when he was 14 and ended after Ragusa's arrest in April 2008 when she was leaving the teen's home."

Ms. Ragusa will be sentenced on June 15.
