Stray Dog and Train Battle - Dog Wins, Twice!
By Gene Byrd
Apr 9, 2010
A stray dog was run over by a freight train, but survived. He was hit twice! The tiny little cream and brown colored Shih Tzu was a stray dog in Utah and was wandering near the train tacks when Fred Krause of the Utah Railway Company says he spotted the dog on the tracks.
At that point, the train was going too fast and there was no way to stop and as it was a freight train versus a small dog, the end would likely not be pretty. Good news, the dog was so small he was not killed or even hit as the train passed over him without scraping or injuring him.

That was the first pass of the day for the train, but on the second time back the dog had not learned a lesson from his first near miss. The dog was running on the tracks again and this time "got whacked by the train's snowplow," reports the Huffington Post.
He survived that train encounter as well. The report reveals that Krause drove back to the site later and found the dog, which was still dazed and lying on the tracks. He was dazed and confused, but okay. The website has a picture of the dog and the new owner.
Krause and his family in Clinton are nursing the dog back to health and are calling him "The Little Guy."
