Teens break into Police Chief's house - arrested as they flee.
Oops! Two teen burglars were caught breaking into the home of the town's top cop just days after the area was ranked as one of the safest places to live in the United States.
The two 'stupid criminals' were arrested and tossed in jail.
Conner Hinton, 17, and Taylor Nuttal, 17, from Sugar Land, Texas, are pictured in the booking photos above (watch a video below for more) and they planned to burglarize the home not knowing that it was the Police Chief's residence.
Neighbors helped thwart the crime as the teen crooks were arrested after a neighbor saw them climbing over a fence and called the police.
Just before the break-in, another resident called police to report two suspicious men in a vehicle parked in front of her house. Police located the vehicle shortly after the burglary and detained the teens.
Police Chief Brinkley, 48, who was just five blocks away at the time, and told The Huffington Post: 'They just chose my house.
'I wouldn't want to see them end in prison for the rest of their lives, but unfortunately that;s where they're heading with behavior like this.'
He added he is considering putting up surveillance cameras at his home and installing a safe, and said: 'You never know who's house you're breaking into and you never know what could happen.'
