News and rumors about the roles for 50 Shades of Grey have included some big names being dropped who want to star in the film.

For Christian, a report has revealed sexy US actor Jake Gyllenhaal would consider playing Christian Grey.

Author EL James has publicly refused to reveal which male actor she would prefer for the movie adaptation, in case it doesn't work out the way she originally predicted.

Several hunky actors have been linked to controversial lead male character, including Channing Tatum, Ryan Gosling, Tom Hardy and Matt Bomer.

Will it be Jake?

A report revealed that the 31-year old actor is delighted with speculation surrounding him being cast as the lead character - who introduces a young college graduate to the world of bondage and kinky sex - in the big screen adaptation of EL James' erotic novel, and he is hopeful on making the role his own.

When asked if he would consider taking on the role, Jake said: "Yeah, of course! I always want to work, man, of course."

An earlier report revealed that he has not been contacted about the part, but he was pleased to be linked to the film.

Anastasia Steele is described as pale, with long dark hair and blue eyes too big for her face.

Lilly Collins, Alexis Bledel, Nina Dobrev, Kristen Stewart, and Ashley Greene are among the actresses being mentioned for the coveted part.

This week another big name was tossed into the mix.

Emma Watson says she would consider the part.

Emma said, "If there's interesting character development and there's an interesting story then I would consider it."
