'The Vampire Diaries' hunk certainly has the looks for the role as kinky billionaire Christian Grey, the lead character in the EL James mommy porn novel 'Fifty Shades of Grey.'

Ian recently joked he was prepping for the role.

Somerhalder teased that he was outfitting his basement as a sex dungeon to prepare for the role.

According to Latinos Post, the actor joked, "Yeah, there's a website you can go to where you can just outfit your basement as a dungeon. So, you know, I thought I'd get prepared, just in case."

In an earlier interview, the sexy Vampire Diaries actor, 33, said the lead role in the movie of the erotic bestseller Fifty Shades of Grey would be intersting.

"I think it could be a very interesting job,” the Lost actor told Homme Essential magazine.

"It’s pretty steamy,” he said of the trilogy.

Screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis thinks the Louisiana native would be perfect for the role of the S&M obsessed billionaire.

Earlier this year he tweeted: “I know Ian Somerhalder and how kinky he can be and yes he’s probably Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey, and he will go all-out for it.”
