Adam Lambert says he wants to be campy. He is sorry if you don't get it. The runner-up on this season's American Idol is out with his first LP "For Your Entertainment" and its cover was ripped by critics as ridiculous and others loudly complained it made him look foolish.

Pop Eater muses, "The cover art for Adam Lambert's debut album looks like what would happen if Duran Duran and Ziggy Stardust mated and had a Thompson Twin."


Those were the kind responses but Us Weekly Magazine tells all to relax, Adam knows what he is doing.

The mag reports, "In a Twitter post on Wednesday, the openly gay American Idol runner-up, 27, told fans and critics his new album's outlandish cover art for his For Your Entertainment disc is supposed to be just that. "Thank you to those who appreciate and understand that the album cover is deliberately campy," he wrote. "It's an homage to the past. It IS ridiculous."
