Al Gore Blasted by Roger Daltrey for Global Warming Concert

May 19, 2007

Roger Daltrey isn't buying Al Gore's whole global warming concert Live Aid. The frontman for the legendary rock band 'The Who' has spoken out in the British media ripping the idea that holding a concert can 'save the planet. The rocker spoke with the UK Sun's Bizarre column and, Roger said: "Bo***cks to that! The last thing the planet needs is a rock concert. "I can't believe it. Let's burn even more fuel."

Yikes sorry Al. This comes on the heels of Boomtown Rats singer and Live Aid and Live 8 founder Bob Geldof slamming Gore as well. "…why is [Gore] actually organizing them? To make us aware of the greenhouse effect? Everybody's known about that problem for years. We are all [expletive] conscious of global warming," Geldof said.

Daltrey echoed: "We have problems with global warming, but the questions and the answers are so huge I don't know what a rock concert's ever going to do to help. "Everybody on this planet at the moment, unless they are living in the deepest rainforest in Brazil, knows about climate change.”

The rocker, who used to sing about my g-generation, added: "My answer is to burn all the f-bomb oil as quick as possible and then the politicians will have to find a solution.”

Feeling the backlash a Live Earth spokesman said: “People are aware of global warming but millions are not doing anything about changing their lifestyles.” That's quite entertaining as it has been reported that Al gore ponies up $500 per month just to heat his pool at his mansion in Tennessee.

The Live Earth concerts will be held in cities around the world on July 7. Proceeds will go to a yet to be named foundation headed by Gore (possible to pay his electric bills?).

Headliners include Madonna, the Beastie Boys, Black Eyed Peas, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Dave Matthews Band, Kanye West, Rihanna, John Mayer, and Fall Out Boy.
