Did Nicki Minaj threaten Mariah Carey during an argument at an American Idol, audition in North Carolina?

She may have and country singer and fellow judge Keith Urban is already caught in the middle.

Watch the video below provided courtesy of TMZ, they had a source who was recording with a cell phone video and Minaj can be heard on the tape cussing and complaining about Carey.

The above still is taken from the video where fellow judge Keith Urban throws up his hands in disgust as Nicki yells out.

TMZ transcribes the footage this way:

Nicki is clearly furious ... shouting, "I told them, I'm not f*ckin' putting up with her f*ckin' highness over there."

Ouch - the two divas are not getting along.

The website notes that sources say Nicki later threatened to "knock out" Mariah ... but that part wasn't captured on tape.

Show bosses canceled filming in Charlotte, North Carolina for the day after the huge blow up and producers are now worried about how the pair will manage to work together for the rest of the season.

Freak Show…

Mariah was said to be unhappy with Nicki joining 'American Idol' because she was worried it would turn the reality TV program into a "freak show".

A source previously said: "Nicki isn't established enough to qualify as a judge.

"Mariah wants a panel of bright, inspirational and constructive judges. Not some freak show! Mariah thinks Nicki will just be a distraction and it will all be about her and her outrageous behavior. Mariah will not be happy if Nicki joins the panel and she has let the producers know just how she feels!"
