American Idol Hopeful David Archuleta Speaks Out on Dad, Crushes
Apr 25, 2008
Forget David vs. Goliath - the real competition on American Idol these days is David Cook vs. David Archuleta. The two Davids are the far and away favorites to win the competition and many believe that the rest of the weeks winding down to the finals are nothing more than a formality. Most pundits believe Jason Castro and the two ladies, Syesha Mercado and Brooke White will all drop off the show one by one for the David vs. David finals.

When asked how he is adjusting to all of the attention, David tells the magazine, "This stuff is awesome, except for having to look at the pictures after. I don't like looking at myself. It's too weird!" He adds that Simon Cowell, "makes me want to pick better songs and do well."
When asked about his fans and their crushes, In Touch asked if David had a celebrity crush he would like to reveal. He says, "I never saw the point in them. How can you have a crush on someone you don't know? So, if someone I knew became one, then I could have one!"

His dad Jeff has been criticized as "The stage dad from hell" but according to the magazine David lives with dad on Idol. When asked about who he is closest to on the show David revealed, "I was close to Alex [Lushington] till she left, but I am sharing [a room] with my dad, which has its pluses and minuses [laughs]."
All of our American idol coverage is here and many are picking David A. to win it all easily. If he wins David says he will "Probably faint, drop to the ground and crack my head open or something."
