American Idol Results 2014 Tonight - Top 13 Perform, Recap

By Staff
Feb 26, 2014
American Idol top 13.

The results for tonight's American Idol top 13 is below along with a recap of the top 13 performing.

Here are your top 13 for American Idol this season:

Malaya Watson, Ben Briley, Emily Piriz, Alex Preston, Jessica Meuse, Dexter Roberts, Caleb Johnson, Majesty Rose, M.K. Nobilette, Sam Woolf, Jena Irene, Kristen O'Connor and C.J. Harris

The American Idol judges 2014 are Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr and as always Ryan Seacrest is the host.

All of the singers will perform tonight, and this season has moved quickly, already eliminating some singers en masse without even hearing them sing.

Some fans have been upset that some of the earlier singers were eliminated that way, but American Idol wanted to move the competition along this season and hopefully deliver the ratings.

The show is competing right along side 'The Voice' for this year, so AI is looking for any edge they can get.

This is American Idol, the singers are ready to perform.

First up - a recap on some of the voting options, complete with a new online platform thanks to Google and consistent phone numbers for each contestant throughout the season.

Also, the time fans are allowed to vote has been extended.

Tonights recap and results are below...

Dexter Roberts sings "Aw Naw" by Chris Young and the judges give him the suggestion to own the song as its own.

Malaya Watson sings "Runaway Baby" by Bruno Mars and the performance is fair, but she needs to enunciate more.

Kristen O'Connor signs Kelly Clarkson's "Beautiful Disaster" and again, it is only a fair performance - it's not a great start for the contestants on Idol tonight performance wise.

The judges giver her a bit of criticism.

Ben Briley sings a classic - "Folsom Prison Blues" by Johnny Cash.

Harry thinks it is unquestionably the best performance so far tonight and I agree, it is a decent rendition of the song.

C.J. Harris sings "Radio" by Darius Rucker and the performance won't bad, but again - nothing spectacular.

M.K. Nobilette sings "Satisfaction" by Allen Stone and it's probably the second best performance of the night.

Majesty Rose sings Janelle Monae's "Tightrope," and finally we get a really good performance - this is the best of the night now.

Jena Irene sings "The Scientist" by Coldplay (no piano).

This was another strong performance and it appears American Idol may have saved the best for last.

Alex Preston sings Jason Mraz's "Beautiful Mess" and does the song justice, though it's right on the line of between fair and good.

Jessica Meuse sings "The Crow and the Butterfly" by Shinedown and this is another so-so "take it or leave it" type of performance.

Emily Piriz signs Pink's "Glitter in the Air" and she is very good tonight - thankfully, the show needs it.

Sam Woolf sings "Unwell" by Matchbox 20 and it just doesn't sound all that good. I'm not sure what it was, but it was another lackluster performance and the judges didn't seem impressed, either.

Caleb Johnson closes the show sings "Pressure and Time" by Rival Sons and he is very good tonight.

All of the judges deliver high praise and it's a great way to close the night as some of the singers seemed nervous and a bit off.

It's very difficult to predict who is going home this week.

American Idol airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 8pm on FOX.
