Kellie Pickler may not have captured the American Idol crown, but nabbing three CMT Music Swards this year more than made up for it. "Those were the first awards I'd ever won," she tells OK Magazine in this week's issue. "So I have plenty of room on my shelf." The rising young star talks wit the magazine about everything from love to Idol Alum Carrie Underwood.

When asked, " Are you and Carrie Underwood still close?" Kellie tells the magazine that they are, when there is time. "When we're both in Nashville, we hang out. But it's hard when we're on tour," she says.


On her love life Kellie reveals that she is dating and she confesses "he's a songwriter who lives in Nashville." She adds, "We wrote a lot on songs together for my new album that's coming out at the end of the summer. It's great to be with someone that has the same passion and understands what I do."

Keep an eye out this weekend for the American idol country cutie. Kellie, 21, is up for Top New Female vocalist at the 43rd Academy of Country Music Awards, broadcast live May 18 from Las Vegas at 8 p.m. on CBS.
