When word hit that Anna Nicole Smith had passed away immediately speculation began as to what killed the 39-year old star. Five months after the birth of her daughter and the sudden death of a 20-year-old son, Smith, 39, was found unconscious around 1:39 p.m., on Thursday afternoon when her private nurse called the hotel for help, Seminole Tribe Police Chief Charlie Tiger said. At 1:45, Tiger said, a bodyguard initiated CPR in Smith's hotel room, No. 607. Tiger said Smith died at the hospital at 2:49 pm.

So - how did she die? Immediately speculation hit that the actress and model has died of an overdose. There is no confirmation of that fact, but as Smith's 20-year-old son, Daniel, died suddenly in the Bahamas in what was believed to be a drug-related death the questions are being asked.

The Sun-Sentinel cites nearby residents and casino patrons said Smith, a former stripper turned Playboy model, diet maven, reality show star and prospective multi-millionaire, frequented the Indian-run hotel and was known for partying loud and late.

And in an explosive new claim, Access Hollywood is citing what it is calling a credible source, and has a report that claims an employee of Anna Nicole Smith found her in her room in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The employee pulled back a sheet and discovered that she appeared to have choked on her own vomit.

A report from the syndicated entertainment news show also cites the same source that makes the claim that Smith took what was referred to as a "children's sedative," and had "kept passing out" before her death.

AccessHollywood.com reports it has learned from this same source that one of the attending physicians at Memorial Regional Hospital was Dr. Randy Katz. Whenthe showcontacted Dr. Katz, he acknowledged that he was indeed an attending physician, but Dr. Katz would not comment on any specifics related to his care of Smith.

Officials at the medical examiner's office in Broward County, Florida, say an autopsy will be performed on Anna Nicole Smith Friday.
