Shia LaBeouf is not a "huge spender". The 'Transformers' actor - who is currently dating British beauty Carey Mulligan - admits he has had difficulty knowing what to do with his multi-million dollar fortune as he leads a fairly modest life. So, after buying houses for his divorced parents, he now ploughs his cash into indulging his passion for baseball team the Los Angeles Dodgers.

He is quoted by gossip website Absolute Now as saying: "I've never been a huge spender. I bought my parents' houses because I was young and thinking like most single children whose parents are going through a divorce, I wanted to try and make things better.

"I realized they just weren't meant to be and that's beautiful too and they're friends. Otherwise, it's mainly Dodger tickets. Seriously, I go pretty hard on those."

Recently the 23-year-old star met up with Carey's parents in a bid to prove the pair were the "real deal".

A source said: "Her parents were worried that Shia was just another Hollywood player who would hurt Carey. "Shia did his best to prove he's the real deal."

The pair met on the set of 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps', due to be released later this year.
