Britney Spears seems to make news in the strangest ways. The new mom has been off radar screen with her one-time music career but has been all the rage of news shows for getting photographed sans underwear. So is she a role model? Uh- no. Newsweek uses the cover - yes the cover - with picture of Britney and Paris during their wintertime party circuit in Los Angeles this week to 'cover' young Hollywood.

The magazine teases: Paris, Britney, Lindsay & Nicole: They seem to be everywhere and they may not be wearing underwear. Tweens adore them and teens envy them. But are we raising a generation of 'prosti-tots'?

The Newsweek cover story says - "Something's in the air, and I wouldn't call it love. Like never before, our kids are being bombarded by images of oversexed, underdressed celebrities who can't seem to step out of a car without displaying their well-waxed private parts to photographers. Videos like "Girls Gone Wild on Campus Uncensored" bring in an estimated $40 million a year."

That's true of course - but is Britney a role model? A recent Newsweek poll found that 77 percent of Americans believe that Britney, Paris and Lindsay have too much influence on young girls.

But a report from the Post Chronicle details that some girls want to emulate Spears' fashion sense -- but only up to a point, apparently. Suburban Chicago fifth-grade teacher Michelle Freitag told Newsweek her students "can't understand why Britney would wear no underwear."
