Carmen Electra was coy when asked about her relationship with X Factor USA judge Simon Cowell, but she did hint they may have had sex.

The former 'Baywatch' actress - who split from fiance Rob Patterson in May - was romantically linked with the music mogul in September and though she claimed to be ''single'' and just ''friends'' with 'The X Factor' star, she went on to suggest their friendship went further.

Asked if they had kissed, she giggled and said: ''Maybe.''

Further pressed on the matter by 'Access Hollywood', she was then asked if there had been any ''horizontal time''.

Carmen again laughed and said ''maybe''.

She added: ''He's so cute. He's adorable, he's actually a sweetheart. I really like him, I think he's very cool.''

The 40-year-old brunette beauty first met Simon when she was a guest judge on his UK show 'Britain's Got Talent' and she says they have been enjoying hanging out in Los Angeles together.

She said: ''We started to hang out, we've become friends, I think he's a great guy.''

Simon and Carmen were seen enjoying a flirtatious dinner at Los Angeles restaurant Cecconi's in September.

An onlooker said at the time: ''They were getting very cozy. They were holding hands and staring into each other's eyes - and then they started making out.

''They were with other friends at the restaurant but didn't seem to mind.''

Asked why he had chosen the former Playboy model to stand in for Amanda Holden on 'Britain's Got Talent', Simon, 52, previously said: ''She's got the best set of ... teeth I've ever seen.''
