The annual Dinah Shore Weekend in Palm Springs has long been the event of the year for lesbians from all over the country, who gather in droves to frolic in the sunny resort city. The event this year begins on March 28th. The 'Girl Bar Dinah Shore Week 2007' run from that date to April Fools Day. Carmen Electra will be there and the rumors of her relationship with rocker Joan Jett has Star Magazine reporting that the pair may announce a romantic relationship and Carmen would use the wildly popular event to come out.

The item from Star notes that "officially" Carmen will be in Palm Springs to perform with her all-girl burlesque group, the Bombshell Babies, and claims that insiders believe she has much more in store!

Not so says Electra. Cue the rep™: A report from Us Weekly magazine reports that Carmen Electra's rep is refuting reports that the 34-year-old former Baywatch babe is involved in a romantic relationship with '80s rocker Joan Jett. Electra's rep tells Usmagazine.com: "They are just friends."

The model/actress split from her hubby of three years Dave Navarro last July and has reportedly been spending a lot of time with the 46-year-old Jett. But the bond is not romantic, her rep says, adding, "Carmen is in London right now. She is performing in Palm Springs at the Dinah Shore Weekend with her group The Bombshells just as she did last year.”

A source close to Electra says Jett won't be at the event.
