Carrie Underwood, "Play On"! Sexy country and crossover star Carrie Underwood posed for pictures in Nashville, Tennessee last week for her upcoming media blitz to promote her new LP "Play On" and the one-time American idol champ tells reporters, "I hate saying pop-country — I hate using that." Still, this album will be a bit different.

For the project, the Associated Press notes she will bring in "several successful pop songwriters, including "Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi, hip-hop specialist Mike Elizondo (Eminem, 50 Cent) and dance-pop producer Max Martin (Pink, Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson)".


"Play On has something in it for everyone,” she says, according to Great American Country. “I have been lucky enough to have very versatile singles and songs on my albums, and I think this is definitely an extension of that. And I think people can enjoy my writing more and things that, you know, are truly coming from my heart more. So I hope we just take everything and just take it to a new level and give something that everybody can enjoy."

Tulsa World reports on a string of appearances set for the week after she co-hosts the 43rd Annual CMA Awards on Nov. 11 with Brad Paisley that includes a visit with the intern loving host on "The Late Show with David Letterman."
