Celebrities and Their Crashed Cars - Amanda Bynes vs. Lindsay Lohan
Celebrities and Their Crashed Cars - Amanda Bynes and Lindsay Lohan are two of the celebrities in Hollywood that are having a bunch of trouble with the police, mainly thanks to their inability to driver their respective cars without striking other vehicles, or in the latest allegations, pedestrians.
The two child stars are both in trouble with police, both have been involved in accidents where police say they hit someone and left the scene.
Irony? Right before Lindsay's last hit-and-run accusation, she took to Twitter to demand an arrest of Amanda for her troubles.
Let's look at the latest from the child stars who know star as "troubled actresses."
Lindsay's latest allegations…
Lindsay has taken her legal issues bi-coastal, she traveled to Manhattan to get arrested this week.
She is accused of hitting a pedestrian.
According to a report, the alleged victim said LiLo smelled of alcohol "real bad" after her car reportedly hit him in New York this week.
The 'Liz & Dick' actress was arrested just after midnight on Wednesday for fleeing the scene of an accident and her alleged victim, Jose Rodriquez, claims she was "slurring" her words after the incident outside the city's Dream Hotel.
Jose recalled to the New York Daily News newspaper: "I saw this car come real quick and hit me. I was in so much pain. I fell to the side.
"When she got out of the car, I asked, 'Why did you do that?' She said, 'You have to get out of the way.' She told me I have to move."
"She was slurring. She smelled like alcohol real bad."
Jose said one of the men in the car moved Lindsay from the driver's seat into the back and then told him there was "no problem".
Jose added: "He kept saying, 'We have to move the car,' and for me to move. They drove off, like it didn't matter."
However, Lindsay is said to have told pals she feels she has been "set up" and thinks there's something "fishy" about her arrest.
The 26-year-old star claims she had no idea she had struck anyone and didn't know about the incident until she was arrested when she left the hotel at around 2.30am.
The 'Mean Girls' star was booked for the misdemeanor offense of leaving the scene of an accident and released with a desk appearance ticket, meaning she did not have to pay bail before release.
Though the offense is a misdemeanor, it could trigger a probation violation in Lindsay's jewelry theft case as one of the conditions of probation is that she obeys all laws.
For Amanda…
Despite her recent string of car crashes and erratic behavior, Bynes is not a danger to the public, a judge has ruled.
The troubled actress - who recently had her car impounded and her driving license suspended - had a court hearing this week, and although she didn't turn up, Los Angeles Judge Elden Fox says she is not a risk to society.
While the district attorney argued Amanda should be ordered to put up $50,000 bail as a condition of remaining free pending her October 29 trial, the judge chose not to impose the requested bail, stating: "Technically, Ms. Bynes is not in violation of order not to drive without a valid driver's license."
And while the district attorney said bail was needed "for the risk of public safety," the judge cited the fact that both incidents occurred prior to Amanda's license being suspended. He noted that he would not be as amenable if Amanda received another incident prior to her trial date.
On June 5, Amanda was officially charged with driving under the influence due to an arrest in April in which she allegedly ran into a police cruiser with her BMW.
She also refused to submit to a chemical test at the time of her arrest and the following day, her attorney entered a not guilty plea on her behalf.
On September 5, the former child star was charged with two counts of misdemeanor hit and run for accidents that occurred April 1 and Aug. 4.
The charges carry a maximum sentence of six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine for each count and the sentence can run consecutively.
Lilo wants Bynes jailed...
Lindsay lashed out at Amanda earlier this week, demanding she be punished.
Lohan tweeted that Bynes should be punished just recently, right before she was arrested in New York.
Lindsay tweeted on the day before her own arrest: "Why did I get put in jail and a nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far? (sic)
She continued to say: "These are the moments that I appreciate my life experiences, living without regrets and Disney for supporting me as an actress-night all* (sic)
Bynes fights back…Karma's a bitch!
TMZ has a new report that says Bynes is telling friends Lohan’s new legal troubles are “what she gets” for talking smack on Twitter … adding Lindsay simply is “not cool.”
