Astrologically, the Bush Twins have a very lucky planetary aspect called the Grand Trine in earth planets. Life in the material world comes easily to them, and they are extremely practical and often conservative so it is not surprising that Jenna Bush chose Henry Chase Hager as her life mate. Mr. Hager has a Taurus Sun, craving stability and wealth and the pleasures of the world. The astrology of twins is quite interesting because while twins typically share virtually the same birthchart, being born within minutes on the same day, they often have very different personalities.

The chart of the Bush twins shows some interesting personality characteristics. Both have the Sun in Sagittarius, giving them a gregarious nature that enjoys a good party; yet they both have Capricorn rising which is much more serious and hard-working. It is common for twins who have this dichotomy in their chart to split the personality characteristics so that one of them exhibits one trait and the other twin manifests the second trait. For example, with the Bush twins Jenna is known as the party girl who is more often in the news (the Sagittarius component) while Barbara is the quieter one, the serious student. But their mother reports that once you get to know them you find that they each share the characteristics attributed to the other so that Jenna is actually as serious as Barbara, and Barbara is just as much fun.

Despite the serious streak of their strong Earthy nature, the twins are quite independent as shown by a conjunction in their charts of Uranus, the planet of rebellion and radical change, to their Sun. Henry Hager shares that quality as Uranus forms an opposition to his Sun and gives him that same individualistic nature. The two of them are likely to share a love of adventure as well as a focus on family and politics of their more conservative sides. Still, their emotional natures are quite different. Henry's Moon is in Gemini, which is more concerned with the ideas relating to emotions, and Jenna is much more passionate with both Moon and Mercury in intense Scorpio.

There is a danger that his conservatism will run deeper than hers, and that he will attempt to curtail her freedom (Saturn in his chart, ruling restriction and limitation, forms stressful aspects to Jenna's Moon and Mercury, her emotions and thoughts. Henry has already experienced his Saturn Return, the time at age 28-30 when we are forced to leave childhood behind, but Jenna will not go through her Saturn Return until next year.

Jenna's Progressed Sun has just entered Capricorn, demonstrating a shift to a more serious approach to life, and transiting Pluto began a passage over her Sun last fall. A large part of her is ready for a shift into the responsibilities of adulthood, but a square of Saturn to her Sun right now shows that it may be a bit overwhelming for her.

Hopefully they will give each other the space they need to allow their individuality to unfold, and accept each other for the very different people that they are.
