Chelsea's Salary at NBC $600K Per Year - Hillary Rodham Clinton's Daughter Cashes In
Hillary Rodham Clinton's daughter Chelsea was able to cash in on her mom and dad Bill Clinton's fame and power, she was handed a job by NBC that paid her $600,000 per year.
NBC dubbed Chelsea a 'special correspondent' but they weren't the ones who disclosed her handsome salary to the press, Politico dug up the figures on the compensation.
What did Chelsea do for the $600K?
She did a few feel good stories for the network for a show called “Rock Center with Brian Williams," but that show was canceled in June last year and now she does special segments from time-to-time for NBC News.
How much on air work did she do to land that big salary?
Hunter Walker of Business Insider did the math and it turns out that Chelsea Clinton's pay from NBC News works out to $26,724 a minute of airtime, or $445 a second.
Here's the math - to date Chelsea has earned about $1.55 million from NBC News and Business Insider says they identified 14 appearances Clinton has made on NBC News programs and "in total, Clinton's segments from the past 2 years and seven months lasted just shy of 58 minutes."
A job that pays $445.00 per second is good work if you can get it, but it comes with criticism, the New York Post called Chelsea "just another spoiled, aimless child of rich, successful parents chauffeured through adulthood by Mommy and Daddy’s connections," when she was hired for NBC and that's before the salary was disclosed.
It appears NBC will finally pull the easy money Chelsea is making as soon as her mom Hillary Rodham Clinton officially declares she is seeking the Democratic Party nomination for US president.
They are still paying her, but she no longer gets an annual contract.
Hopefully another friend of Bill and Hillary will step in with another gig for Chelsea when mom declares she is running, as she's need the money, she is pregnant with a baby on the way.
Check out her baby bump photo above.
