Chris Pine Compares Working on Star Trek 2 to Paid Summer Camp
Chris Pine says working on 'Star Trek 2' is like taking part in a ''summer camp you get paid for''.
The 31-year-old actor - who is reprising his role as James T. Kirk in director J.J. Abrams' film - has revealed he had a blast filming the sequel and promises it could be even ''bigger'' than the first 2009 blockbuster.
Chris told HitFix: ''This is no hyperbole - I love everyone that I get to make that film with. I love all my cast mates. It's like camp that you get paid for.
''You can't ask for a better gig. The new one is just as exciting if not bigger than the first.''
J.J.'s original 'Star Trek' film, written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, was the 11th movie based on the popular 'Star Trek' TV franchise and features the main characters of the series.
And Chris - who most recently appeared in 'This Means War' with Reese Witherspoon and Tom Hardy - has high hopes for the as yet unnamed 'Star Trek' sequel.
He enthused: ''The great thing that Alex [Kurtzman], Bob [Roberto Orci], Damon [Lindelof] and J.J. are good at is marrying small character driven films with big blockbuster action.
''I think that is the thing that sets them apart from other filmmakers in that genre.''
'Star Trek 2' also features Zoe Saldana, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Simon Pegg.
The film is due for release next May.
