Clare Danes says her husband is her best friend.

The 'Homeland' actress married actor Hugh Dancy in 2009 after meeting him on the set of 2007 film 'Evening' and she couldn't be more happier with her man.

Speaking in an interview with Britain's Cosmopolitan magazine, she said: ''If you're going to be married, he's a really good guy to be married to!

''We're incredibly supportive of each other, our trust in one another is deepening and we're each other's best friend.''

Claire - who revealed in July she and Hugh are expecting their first child together - also admitted she used to have a fear of being alone but she now appreciates time to herself, even taking herself ''out on a date''.

The screen beauty, who shot to fame at 17 playing Juliet in Baz Luhrmann's 'Romeo + Juliet', says that she owes her marital bliss to her parents who have been together their entire adult lives.

She added: ''I've always had confidence that [monogamy] is possible and likely, even, which is a gift.''
