Clinton Ad Girl Casey Knowles Wants to Act in Ad for Barack Obama

Mar 11, 2008

The red phone ad was a hit and helped vault Hillary Clinton and her campaign back from the dead. It featured a little girl (later identified as Casey Knowles) and suggested that if a crisis call came in at 3am Barack Obama would have no clue of what to do as he is too inexperienced.

Hillary Clinton took three of four states on what was dubbed Super Tuesday II and without that ad he may have already have dispatched of Hillary Clinton and she would likely be finished.

Obama said at the time, At a veterans event here, a very serious looking Sen. Barack Obama just responded. He said the ad plays on "peoples’ fears. I don't think these ads will work this time because the question is not about picking up the phone, but the question is what kind of judgment will you exercise when you pick up that phone"

He was wrong as the ad surely worked. But now the girl wants to campaign for Barack Obama and cash in on her fifteen minutes of fame. Casey is now nearly eighteen and wants to help Obama. "I think it would be really wonderful if me and Barack Obama could get together and make a nice counter ad," she said in an interview. That's cut but it would never work. The ad has people wondering if Obama is the man for national security. That's the crisis he needs to solve.
