What are Conan O'Brien's feelings on Stephen Colbert as the next Late Show host?

O'Brien has revealed that he thinks Colbert is the "right person" to take over the show from Letterman.

When asked if he wanted the job, Conan said he didn't.

"I wasn't up for it," O'Brien said recently.

He added: "I'm very happy where I am, but I love Stephen. I think Stephen is great. I'm a huge fan of his as a comic and as a human being. I think it's fantastic. I'm really glad that he got the job. I look forward to seeing his show."

Conan is hosting Sunday's 2014 MTV Movie Awards.

Colbert will replace David Letterman on the 'Late Show', and the 49-year-old host, who currently fronts 'The Colbert Report', will be taking over from the 66-year-old star on the CBS show when he retires next year.

Stephen said in a statement: "Simply being a guest on David Letterman's show has been a highlight of my career. I never dreamed that I would follow in his footsteps, though everyone in late night follows Dave's lead. I'm thrilled and grateful that CBS chose me. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go grind a gap in my front teeth."

David is the longest-serving late night talk show host in TV history after fronting NBC's 'Late Night' for 11 years, before taking on the 'Late Show' in 1993.
