Crime Beat NYC - Police allege that Grammy award-winning R&B singer D'Angelo propositioned an undercover police offer for sex. According to a report from Spin Magazine, the singer born Michael Archer, was arrested Saturday night in New York City for allegedly offering an undercover policewoman $40 for oral sex.

The report reveals that police have claimed that D'Angelo was driving alone in is car when he made the offer. The NY Post reports police discovered $12,000 cash in the singer's car after the alleged $40 proposal and later charged him with solicitation.


NY Mag has more here adding, "This isn't the first time he's been embarrassingly arrested, of course: In 2005, five years after his classic sophomore album Voodoo was released, he was detained on drug-possession and drunk-driving charges in his hometown of Richmond, Virginia.

The report notes his mug shot photo revealed "a physical state a long way off from his famously chiseled physique in the "Untitled (How Does It Feel?)" video." D'Angelo is shown above in an even earlier mug shot picture.
