Dave Grohl No Fan of American Idol, X Factor USA or The Voice's Judges
Dave Grohl is no fan of American idol judges and doesn't like panelists on The X Factor USA or The Voice, either.
The rocker said he wants to ''throttle'' singing talent show TV judges.
The Foo Fighters musician - who has daughters Violet, six, and Harper, three, with wife Jordyn - would be furious if one of his kids was cut down by a panelist on a show like NBC's 'The Voice' or Fox's 'The X Factor' or 'American Idol' because he doesn't think they have the right to crush people's dreams.
He said: ''That's what bums me out about those shows where people are judged so harshly by f***ing musicians that hardly even play and instrument on their own f***ing albums. It makes me really mad. I swear to God, if my daughter walked up onstage and sang her heart out and some f***ing billionaire looked at her and said, 'No, I'm sorry, you're no good' I'd f***ing throttle that person, I swear to God. Who the f**k are you to say what's good or bad.''
Dave thinks talent shows are flawed, as some of the greatest musicians of all time, such as The Who's deceased sticksman Keith Moon, were technically imperfect.
He told NME magazine: ''If you were to put Keith Moon up on stage and had him judged by prolific fusion drummers they would say, 'Well, your timing's not great, you're all over the place, you're hitting rim shots when you weren't supposed to be, your cymbal work is a little sloppy.' It's ridiculous.
''It homogenizes music so that everyone sounds like Christina Aguilera. I mean, really?''
