Debra Messing delights as Molly Kagan, who's still adjusting to life in Hollywood after being dumped by her movie mogul husband (David Alan Basche). Her support team helps the show along with a bit of comedy and flair. So - who are they? It's a great cast.

Recovering alcoholic Joan (Judy Davis), gay Rodney (Chris Diamantopoulos) and perhaps, a baseball star's wife (Danielle Nicolet) who stands up for outcast Molly in the two hour opener. Indeed, intelligent female characters make this 'Starter Wife' an exceptional watch.


According to a report from Us Weekly Magazine, after Will & Grace wrapped in 2006, Debra Messing refused to read TV scripts - let alone appear in another series. "I needed a mourning process," the NYC native tells Us Weekly magazine in an interview published in the magazine.

But she couldn't resist 'The Starter Wife,' the 2007 USA Netminiseries about Hollywood divorcee forced to revamp her life. An Emmy nod later, Messing, 40, has returned to reprise her role in the now-weekly drama. The show is premiering October 10 at 9:00 Eastern.
