Dina Lohanhas caught plenty of criticism for not showing up to visit her daughter Lindsay Lohan while she is tucked away at the palatial 'Promises' rehab center in Malibu, California. Dina reportedly has been shopping a TV show while LiLo does her stint after a DUI charge in Beverly Hills. Now Dina is ready to visit Lindsay. What gives?

Dina Uses Lindsay Lohan as an Excuse to Skip Family Court?

Newsday reports that in order to make that happen, momma Lohan had to skip ot on family court. Wait - what? Dina missed a scheduled court appearance Friday in a child-visitation battle with her former husband, Michael, because she was flying to Los Angeles, her lawyers said.

Guess who wasn't happy - the judge. Nassau Family Court Judge Stacy D. Bennett scolded Pessala and attorney Warren Quaid for Dina Lohan's absence. "Where is your client?" asked an angry Judge Stacy Bennett when Dina didn't turn up for a hearing Friday in Nassau County Family Court to work out visitation issues with estranged husband Michael.

Her lawyer, Warren Quaid, said she was getting ready to fly to California to see Lindsay, who entered Promises rehab center last month. "All future dates she is required to be here," the judge said. "She's attending to the needs of Lindsay," said John B. Pessala, a Hicksville attorney representing Dina Lohan in the visitation dispute. "She's going to be with her daughter." It's not like Lindsay just entered rehab yesterday, she went in last month.

People Magazine reports that Michael Lohan, who was at the Westbury, N.Y., court, seeks the right to visit his two youngest children, daughter Aliana, 13, and son Dakota,10.

A court-appointed doctor is going to evaluate the children to determine their best interests, Bennett said. The next court date is June 25. The court case does not involve Lindsay, 20, and her younger brother, Michael, 19, because they're no longer minors and too old for family court.

Michael Lohan has not seen his children for over two years due to restraining orders put in place by Dina.
