Duck Dynasty Star Talks with Obama - Willie Robertson's Appearance at 2014 SOTU
Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson has revealed he talked with President Barack Obama at the State of the Union 2014 and reveals the two got along just fine.
U.S. Representative Vance McAllister represents the 5th congressional district of Louisiana and he had an invite for the SOTU this year and thought it would be nice to bring Willie from Duck Dynasty to the event.
McAllister is a freshman Congressman and only recently won a special election to his post.
Congressmen in the US House of Representatives have to run for election every two years, and for McAllister he must run again next year, since he just won the special election.
Willie explained the meeting while on Jimmy Kimmel Live with his beautiful wife Kori Robertson:
"He's only in for a year and then he has to run again, so he calls me up and he says, 'Willie, State of the Union man. I may only be here for a year, you want to roll?' I said 'Let's go, man, let's do it.' We're literally high-fiving in the back of it like, 'Can you believe it? We're here!'"
Here's how the meeting with President Obama went down, according to the Duck Dynasty star:
"The president's walking down the hall. And he sees me and he goes, 'Willie, what's up?'"
"I'm like, 'Hey, what's up?' So we're talking, and we're having this conversation."
Willie then says the president gave him a hard time about is attire.
"The last time I met him, at the Correspondents' Dinner, I had a tux on," Robertson said.
"He's like, 'Where's the tux?' I'm like, 'This is my State of the Union attire.'"
