Election day exit polls for the 2014 midterm elections for the US Senate and US House of Representatives will be conducted as voters go to the polls today by news agencies AP, NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox, CNN.
Thirty-six out of the Senate's 100 seats are up for election today and all 435 US House seats are being voted on by voters, the process is underway.
After 5 p.m. Eastern time, some of the earliest exit poll results will be revealed and analysis will soon follow as networks and news agencies try to sort through the exit polling data to get a pulse of the voters.
According to many polls before the vote, anger against incumbents is the mood of the voters and President Barack Obama was relegated to the sidelines in many races becuae of his low approval ratings.
In other races, Republicans and their supporters ran ads against Pres. Obama, even though he isn't on the ballot.
Will that strategy work?
The exit polls from AP, NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox and CNN will be used for projections starting as early as 5 p.m. EST and the news agencies guard against leaks in states where the polls are still open.
ABC has a live update page here, they promise updates throughout the day and will have their projections for many winners at the ready as soon as the polls close.
