An Eyeball tattoo trend is a hit in prisons with inmates and will surely make its way to the street soon. The tattoos change the sclera (the white part of the eye) to be blue or even red and really change the look of the eye.

According to the Huffington Post, one inmate spoke on his decision. When asked why he would do this to himself, David Boltjes (whose eyes are red) poetically remarked, "You can't ask why...the real question is why not."


Clear thinking like that surely must have been what landed him behind bars. He isn't the only Guinea pig to volunteer, A Canadian man (he calls himself Pauly Unstoppable) got a similar tattoo treatment last year.

He received nearly 40 injections of light blue ink in his eyes and even let The UK Sun document it! The photo shows Pauly getting an injection.
