Gia Arnold, Senate Candidate from GOP Announces Sexual Affair on Facebook, Quits Race
Gia Arnold, a senate candidate who is a Republican and was hoping to gain a seat in the New York State Senate has quit her race and went public on the reason why on Facebook.
Gia Arnold is a 24 year old GOP mom and is married with three kids.
The young politico was seeking to replace retiring Republican Senator George Maziarz in District 62 in New York.
That dream is now over, and her political ambitions are on hold as she has admitted to cheating on her husband in a Facebook post.
Gia posted on Facebook that she began an sexual affair on August 1, 2014 with another man and couldn't face trying to hide that and run for NY State Senate.
"I participated in an extramarital affair beginning in August of this year," she wrote on the social network website.
"It was an excuse for an escape from an already declining marriage."
According to the New York Daily News, "Arnold, had conservative and Tea Party support and was running agains North Tonawanda Mayor Rob Ortt in the Sept. 9 Republican primary.
She added on her Facebook page"
"I cannot regret the decisions I have made, but I can admit to being happier presently than before.
"It is for my ex husband, my children, my family and friends that I must publicly admit to my actions as I believe honesty and integrity are of utmost importance in life.
"I hope that all [the people] I have disappointed will understand that I am only human and imperfect."
