Public humiliation slammed rocker Sheryl Crow fairly well on Monday. One half of the 'Global Warming Bimbos™ used her forum to promote her newest scatter brained idea, using only one square of toilet paper per bathroom break. She was lampooned on every cable channel; every radio program and pretty much anyone with a voice slammed the rocker. It didn't go over well.

Predictably - she went with the 'it was a joke' excuse. I'll admit - I thought it was a joke when I first read it - how could anyone be so foolish - but as I re-read her blog she had other items that couldn't have been humor.

She writes, "Yesterday, we played 2 shows...one at a high school in Springfield, Tennessee, and one in the evening on the Vanderbilt campus. The Springfield student body decorated the gym with bright, colorful posters of support for solving the problem of global warming and even the mayor made a very inspired speech ending with a presentation to Laurie and I with the keys to the city of Springfield.

So sweet! What a great day with the high school show being filmed by Channel One. It will go out to 7 million kids in the classroom setting across the States this Friday. That's some serious outreach."

So - is that a joke as well? Or is that serious?

The problem when you grab a pretty face like Sheryl's a stick her at the front of some cause with a person like Laurie David is that when they are given a forum to spout their version of what they believe is truth is that people are going to listen and then they are going to be challenged. Laurie David says the debate is over and she will not be challenged.

Her answer to criticism is for us all to watch 'An Inconvenient Truth.' I have watched it. Now that was a joke.
