Halle Berry was rushed to hospital after an on-set accident last night (July 17).

The 45-year-old actress was working on new movie 'The Hive' - in which she stars alongside Abigail Breslin and David Otunga - when the incident occurred and an ambulance was called to take her to the Cedars Sinai medical center in Los Angeles.

It is not known exactly what happened to the Oscar-winning star; either she was hit by a falling object or fell down some stairs, X17Online reports.

The set was shut down following the accident.

It is the second time this month an actress has been injured on a set.

Kristin Chenoweth was recently rushed to hospital after being hit by a piece of lighting equipment on 'The Good Wife'.

Her injuries were believed to be minor and she was soon released from the Bellevue Hospital in the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn, New York.

Kristin - who has also appeared in 'Glee' - later thanked fans for wishing her well.

Her representative said: ''Kristin has been released from the hospital and is home recovering. She thanks everyone for their prayers and well wishes.''
