Harrison Ford Rumor - Back as Hans Solo in Star Wars 7?
Harrison Ford rumor - Ford will reprise his role as Hans Solo in 'Star Wars 7'?
The 70-year-old actor - who starred in the original Star Wars trilogy between 1977 and 1983 along with Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher - will reportedly return to the franchise after 30 years for the J.J. Abrams-directed 'Star Wars 7', according to Latino-Review.com.
Latino Review editor El Mayimbe told FoxNewsLatino: "He is officially coming back as Han Solo.
"His deal is done. It's just formalities right now. They haven't really announced it yet. That's the big one right now."
Harrison - whose character ended up with Carrie's alter ego Princess Leia in 1983's 'Return of the Jedi' - was previously said to be enthusiastic about returning to the franchise, which was bought by Disney from creator George Lucas last year.
A source close to the actor told Entertainment Weekly said: "Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he's upbeat about it - all three of them [Mark, Harrison and Carrie] are."
The actor, who also worked with George Lucas on the 'Indiana Jones' franchise, has had a somewhat acrimonious relationship with the space saga in the past.
He allegedly asked to be killed off in 'Return of the Jedi', but his request was denied as Hans Solo was a best-selling action figure at the time.
In 2010 the actor also claimed he didn't "understand" the films' plot, saying: "I don't know that I understood it very well. not sure I understand it yet ... I was very happy to be involved. I was pleased to be a part of an ensemble."
'Star Wars 7' is expected to be released in 2015.
