Walker is an amazing athlete beyond his one-time incredible football skills but keep in mind, he is now 47-years old. Still, it appears the league wants him for the instant celebrity he brings. The New York Times notes, "Strikeforce, which has a deal to televise some of its fights on CBS, recently beat out the UFC and signed Fedor Emelianenko to a contract."

More at the NY Times here on the battle between the fighting leagues. Walker, the 1982 Heisman Trophy winner might be enough to get Strikeforce the "buzz' it needs to challenge.
A report notes he "already holds a fifth-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do" and "Walker will begin a 12-week training camp next month in San Jose, Calif."
