Who win on the HGTV series Design Star? Only two designers are still standing! Who will win the third season of HGTV Design Star? It's down to the wire for HGTV Design Star, and with only two designers still in the mix. Who Won Design Star from HGTV? Was it Matt Locke or Jennifer Bertrand? The competition is over and votes are tallied and the cable show will unveil the winner on Sunday night.

Viewers got to vote on who they think did the best job on the final project - making over New Orleans homes ravaged by Hurricane Katrina - immediately following the July 27 episode. The winner from those votes that are tallied will then become the host of their own home-makeover show on the cable channel.


Star Magazine has this analysis. "Although both designers are talented, picking a winner should be easy for style-conscious viewers. That's because the two finalists' approaches are completely different. Princeton grad Matt Locke goes for a minimal look, and army brat Jennifer Bertrand favors a more whimsical, contemporary style."

Continuing: "They both know exactly what kind of show they would host if they win, too. "I like solving problems," says Matt, 38, who would call his Matt Locke, Design Detective. "I could research the building and base the design on its history." Meanwhile, Jennifer, 33, would like to do a show that's more socially conscious. "Awareness is so important, and to give a deserving family a home makeover would be so awesome," she says."
